If you have a rooted device start the app and head to settings and tick 'Device is rooted' and grant permissions when prompted. This will make visible extra toggles that work with root. Tested with rooted Android 4. 4 KitKat on the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 and working all okay for Airplane switching.
