Shirdi Sai Baba began his journey as a fakir in Shirdi and was recognized as ‘Sai' by the God of Khandoba through the Shaman of the village, Bhagat Mhalsapati. Mohammedan that he was, he displayed his divinity and Godly Grace through the fact that he was well versed with all Brahman Vedas and wise beyond his age.
